3. Training Programs and Enrollment

Information regarding training programs, tuition, class schedules, course availability, and enrollment requirements is provided for general informational purposes.

While we make reasonable efforts to maintain accurate information, program details may change.

Submitting an inquiry form, requesting information, or making a payment does not automatically guarantee enrollment or a specific class placement.

Formal enrollment is subject to the school's applicable admissions requirements and Enrollment Agreement.

The signed Enrollment Agreement, applicable School Catalog, and any properly authorized written modifications govern the student's specific educational and financial obligations.

These website Terms do not replace the Enrollment Agreement or School Catalog.

Any changes to an executed Enrollment Agreement must be made in accordance with its written modification requirements and applicable law.

4. Student Eligibility and Admission Requirements

Students must satisfy applicable federal and Washington State requirements for commercial driver training.

Depending on the selected program, eligibility requirements may include:

  • Applicable minimum age requirements.
  • Valid identification and required licensing documentation.
  • Commercial learner's permit requirements.
  • Medical certification or other applicable qualifications.
  • Required pre-enrollment testing.
  • Compliance with school safety and participation requirements.

New Sound CDL School evaluates enrollment eligibility based on applicable legal requirements and its published admission standards.

Admission and participation decisions are made individually and without unlawful discrimination.

A criminal conviction or pending criminal charge does not automatically disqualify an applicant from admission. Such information may be considered when it directly affects the applicant's current legal eligibility or another lawful, published admission requirement, as described in the school's Enrollment Agreement.

For employer-sponsored programs, any specific employment eligibility conditions will be disclosed in accordance with applicable requirements.

5. Tuition, Fees, and Payment Obligations

Tuition and other educational fees depend on the selected training program and applicable enrollment arrangements.

Before enrollment, students should review the total tuition cost, payment schedule, required fees, and other financial obligations.

The student's Enrollment Agreement and School Catalog identify applicable tuition charges and payment responsibilities.

Students agree to make payments according to their authorized enrollment and financial arrangements.

Failure to fulfill agreed payment obligations may affect continued participation in training, subject to school policy and applicable law.

Any balance owed following cancellation or withdrawal will be determined according to the applicable enrollment terms and refund policy.

Any loans or independent financing agreements used to pay for training may create separate repayment obligations with the financing provider.

6. Online Payments and Payment Processing

New Sound CDL School may accept electronic payments for tuition, registration fees, deposits, and other authorized charges.

Payments may be processed through authorized third-party payment providers.

Students may receive secure payment links or other payment instructions from New Sound CDL School.

When making a payment, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate billing and payment information.
  • Use a payment method you are authorized to use.
  • Verify the payment amount and purpose before submitting payment.
  • Contact the school promptly if you identify an incorrect or unauthorized charge.

By completing a payment, you authorize the applicable payment provider to process the transaction for the amount displayed at checkout.

Payment providers may impose additional terms and security requirements.

New Sound CDL School may receive transaction confirmations and related payment records for administrative, accounting, enrollment, and refund purposes.

Payments are subject to the applicable Enrollment Agreement, cancellation and refund provisions, and relevant consumer protection laws.

A payment does not, by itself, guarantee admission to a training program.

If a payment is made before an enrollment agreement is signed, the payment remains subject to applicable Washington State requirements governing pre-enrollment payments and refunds.

For questions about payments or charges, contact:

Phone: 253-777-3800

7. Cancellation and Refund Policy

New Sound CDL School follows its published cancellation and refund policy, the applicable student Enrollment Agreement, and the minimum requirements established by Washington State law.

The following provisions summarize the school's cancellation and refund terms for its in-person training programs.

7.1 Non-Acceptance or School Cancellation

If an applicant is not accepted into a training program, the school will refund all money paid by that applicant.

The same requirement applies when the school cancels a starting class before training begins.

If a student has paid an application or registration fee but does not sign an enrollment agreement or begin participation in the program, payments will be refunded as required by Washington law.

7.2 Cancellation Within Five Business Days

If an applicant cancels within five business days, excluding Sundays and holidays, after signing the enrollment agreement or making an initial payment, as applicable, and has not begun training, the school will refund all money paid.

Cancellation requests may be submitted through any method permitted by applicable Washington State law.

Written notice is recommended for recordkeeping purposes.

7.3 Cancellation After Five Business Days but Before Training Begins

If an applicant cancels after the initial five-business-day cancellation period but before training begins, New Sound CDL School may retain an established registration fee.

The maximum registration fee retained will be the lesser of:

  • Ten percent (10%) of the total tuition cost; or
  • One hundred dollars ($100).

Any remaining refundable amounts will be returned according to applicable requirements.

7.4 Withdrawal After Training Begins

If a student withdraws or is terminated after training has begun, the school may retain the applicable registration fee plus a percentage of tuition based on the amount of training completed.

The following schedule applies:

One week of training or up to 10% of the program, whichever is less: The school may retain 10% of tuition.

More than one week or 10%, whichever is less, but less than 25% of training: The school may retain 25% of tuition.

25% through 50% of training: The school may retain 50% of tuition.

More than 50% of training: The school may retain 100% of tuition.

Refund calculations are based on recorded student attendance and training completed, not merely the passage of calendar time.

The applicable registration fee is treated separately from the tuition percentage, consistent with Washington State regulations.

The amount refunded will be determined after applying the appropriate tuition retention percentage, allowable registration fee, and payments received.

7.5 Official Withdrawal or Termination Date

The student's official withdrawal or termination date is determined according to the school's applicable records and Washington State requirements.

This may include the student's last recorded date of attendance, termination for a violation of published school policy, or other circumstances addressed by applicable regulations.

Students should communicate with the school as soon as possible if they intend to discontinue training.

7.6 Refund Processing Time

Refunds required under the applicable Washington State refund policy will be issued within thirty (30) calendar days of the student's official withdrawal or termination date.

Refunds will be processed through an appropriate payment method in accordance with applicable requirements.

7.7 Discontinued Programs

If the school discontinues an active training program or relocates in circumstances covered by Washington State regulations, affected students will receive applicable protections, including a qualifying refund or an opportunity to accept comparable training, as required by law.

7.8 How to Request Cancellation or a Refund

To request cancellation or discuss a tuition refund, contact:

New Sound CDL School
7495 26th St E, Unit C
Fife, WA 98424

Phone: 253-777-3800
Email: cdl@newsound.com

Students are encouraged to keep documentation of cancellation and refund requests.

Nothing in these Terms limits or waives any cancellation or refund rights provided by applicable Washington State law.

8. Student Attendance, Conduct, and Withdrawal

Students enrolled at New Sound CDL School are expected to comply with the school's published attendance, participation, and safety requirements.

Grounds for withdrawal or termination may include:

  • Attending training while under the influence of prohibited drugs or alcohol.
  • Violating safety requirements or creating an immediate safety hazard.
  • Failure to follow lawful instructions from school personnel or applicable authorities.
  • Disruptive, threatening, abusive, or inappropriate conduct.
  • Failure to maintain satisfactory attendance or progress.
  • Failure to return from approved leave as required.
  • Falsification of required documentation.
  • Failure to satisfy applicable licensing or enrollment requirements.
  • Failure to meet agreed financial obligations.

Any enrollment or termination decision will be made according to the school's published policies and applicable law.

Students may request review of a dismissal decision through the school's administrative appeal process.

Appeals may be directed to the School Director, Susanna Karcha.

Withdrawal or termination does not automatically eliminate tuition obligations. Any remaining balance or refund will be calculated under the applicable Enrollment Agreement and refund policy.

9. Training Delivery and Student Responsibilities

New Sound CDL School provides required classroom, theory, and practical training according to its approved program requirements.

As described in the school's Enrollment Agreement, required classroom and theory instruction is instructor-led and conducted in person at the approved training facility.

The school's programs are not offered as distance or hybrid education unless a separately approved program and enrollment arrangement expressly provides otherwise.

Students are responsible for attending required instruction, participating in training activities, completing applicable assessments, and complying with school policies.

Training completion requirements and any additional instruction charges are described in the applicable Enrollment Agreement and School Catalog.

10. CDL Skills Tests and Additional Charges

For programs covered by the school's current Enrollment Agreement, tuition includes:

  • One scheduled Commercial Driver License Skills Test.
  • One truck/equipment rental for that test.

An additional truck/equipment rental fee of $200 per additional CDL skills test applies when another test is necessary.

Students may also be responsible for applicable Washington State Department of Licensing testing fees and additional instruction beyond the contracted training hours, when applicable.

Additional instruction charges are governed by the rates disclosed in the School Catalog.

A student who cancels or misses a scheduled CDL skills test does not automatically forfeit remaining contracted training hours solely because of the cancellation or absence.

Any additional charges will be disclosed before the applicable services are provided.

11. Drug and Alcohol Testing Requirements

Certain commercial driver training requirements include drug and alcohol testing.

As described in the school's Enrollment Agreement, students may be required to complete pre-enrollment drug testing and other testing required by applicable federal and state laws or school policies.

The initial drug testing expense is the student's responsibility, as provided in the Enrollment Agreement.

Students who fail to meet applicable testing requirements may be unable to begin or continue training.

Any required follow-up testing, return-to-duty procedures, or associated costs will be handled according to the Enrollment Agreement and applicable legal requirements.

Student testing information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy, educational, and regulatory requirements.
